Profile

Mr. Chowdhury is the Managing Director and Chief Investment & Operations Officer at ASMA Capital Partners B.S.C. (c),manager of the$750 million IDB Infrastructure Fund II. He has been a member of the Management Committee since 2013and, alongside his role within the investment decision making process, is responsible for the finance function at ASMACapital.

He is also a member of the Board of Directors of several investee companies of the Fund such as Brooge Energy Limited,United Arab Emirates (UAE) (NASDAQ: BROG), Saudi Tabreed District Cooling Company CJSC, Kingdom of SaudiArabia (KSA), EMA Power Investment Limited (UAE), Andalusia Arabia for Medical Services Company CJSC (KSA and Egypt),and United Water L.L.C (UAE).

From 2006 to 2013, Mr. Chowdhury was a Managing Partner at EMP Bahrain and was responsible for managing the IDBInfrastructure Fund, which returned in excess of US$1.2billion to the investors. While at EMP Bahrain, he was instrumentalin several investments including several now publicly listed companies such as: TAV Airports Holding, Turkey (IST: TAVHL) asubsidiary of Aéroports de Paris Group (EPA: ADP); Air Asia, Malaysia (KLSE: AIRASIA); Sahara International PetrochemicalCompany, KSA (TADAWUL: 2310); Turk Telekom, Turkey (IST: TTKOM); AES Oasis, UAE (a subsidiary of AES Corporation(NYSE: AES)); Advanced Petrochemical Company, KSA (TADAWUL: 2330); The Resource Group, Pakistan (PSX: TRG); SDEBerhad (Malaysia); and Globeleq Ltd (Asia and Africa).

Previously, Mr. Chowdhury was with Westpac Banking Corporation, Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse. He holds postgraduate degrees in Finance and Economics (M.Sc.), is a graduate of FINSIA, and received various academic certificatesincluding Advanced Valuation from New York University, USA. He has presented key notes in many conferences and coauthoredresearch projects with Stanford University published in The Journal of Structured Finance and The Journal ofPrivate Equity.
