Akash Maharaj is a General Partner at Newtown Partners, focused on impact-driven private credit and structured capital solutions for growth-stage businesses across Africa. He brings over two decades of experience across investment banking, venture capital, and private credit, including senior roles at Deloittes, Deutsche Bank, Citibank, Standard Bank and Investec. Akash works closely with founders and LPs to design flexible financing structures such as venture debt, mezzanine, and hybrid instruments that enable sustainable scale. He is also Managing Partner at IAM Capital Advisory, advising high-growth companies on capital raising, governance, and value creation.
