Ido Sum is a Partner of TLcom Capital, Africa’s most active tech-focused VC fund, investing in early-to-growth stage with offices in Lagos, Nairobi and London. TLcom has 17 portfolio companies including Andela, Autochek, Pula, uLesson, Fairmoney, Illa and LittleFish.

Since joining TLcom in 2011, Ido has been part of the founding team of the TIDE Africa fund and has vast experience in working with and mentoring tech start-ups across Africa. His board positions include Terragon Group, uLesson, Zone, Littlefish and Ilara Health.

Prior to TLcom, Ido was the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Airlines WiMAX Communication, an East Africa-based mobile broadband operator., He also led a consulting business focused on web start-ups and web incubators in Israel and worked as a Business Development Manager at TMT – Israel’s largest interactive television company.

Ido holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, and a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Tel Aviv University.
