As MEDA’s Senior Director of Investment Finance, Jen MacBruce oversees the development of MEDA’s impact investment strategy and investment portfolio policies, including the MEDA Risk Capital Fund (MRCF) and Mastercard Foundation Africa Growth Fund. Jen also supports the development of investment policies for program investments by driving research and evaluating overall investment strategy alignment with management sustainability.

Jen is a seasoned leader in financial services with over 15 years of experience in investment management, investment analysis, product development, and management. She has led multifunctional teams across North America, Europe, and Asia. Jen brings a wealth of knowledge and technical expertise to this role including a proven track record in developing financial models, macroeconomic analysis, and risk management strategies. Jen’s expertise includes aligning innovation and new product investment decisions with corporate strategic growth goals and implementing innovation solutions that are cost efficient and maximize profit.

Jen holds several designations including a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Investment Management (CIM), and Canadian Risk Management Designation (CRM). She completed her bachelor’s degree in finance at the University of Toronto and earned her MBA in finance at the University of Birmingham. In addition to Jen’s professional experience, she volunteers for several non-profit boards and is passionate about building an equitable space for women in finance. Jen is a recipient of 2024 Insurance Business Canada (IBC) Elite Women in Insurance Award and Ontario Volunteer Service Award.
