Profile

Paul is responsible for new business initiatives, the development and structuring of AIIM’s managed funds and AIIM’s international fundraising activities.

Paul joined AIIM in 2011 and led the structuring and fundraising of AIIM’s flagship AIIF3 Fund and AIIM’s dedicated renewable energy investment vehicle, Apollo – developed to provide international and domestic capital with access to Africa’s growth markets through a diversified portfolio of infrastructure assets across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Prior to his current role, Paul was involved in the establishment of AIIM’s asset management function and AIIM’s entry into the renewable energy sector through the selection and submission of bids in the South African REIPPP Programme. Paul led the integration of these projects into the AIIM portfolio and the development of asset management strategies for these assets. Paul holds a directorship on the board of Cookhouse Wind Farm, South Africa’s largest wind farm.

Prior to joining AIIM, Paul spent five years working on the alternative assets structuring desk at Credit Suisse in London where he was responsible for the development, structuring and execution of alternative investment products for the pension and insurance industries.

Paul holds a Bachelor of Business Science degree with honours from the University of Cape Town, is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accounts (SAICA) and a CFA Charterholder.
