John Anderson is a 30+ year infrastructure investor across a range of global markets.

As part of the Manulife investment program since 2001, John has been a leading investor in the US renewable energy industry. The Manulife investment program has been at the forefront of the development and growth of the hydroelectric, geothermal, biomass, wind, solar, and storage industries in the United States. Program milestones have included being a founding member of the American Council on Renewable Energy, acting as an advisor to the US Department of Energy, and financing the first utility scale solar and earliest residential solar portfolios in the market.

Today, John is the President of the Manulife Infrastructure Equity Funds, chairs the firm’s investment committee for infrastructure and energy transition equity investing, and leads a $150 billion global investment-grade lending program that is active across all sectors including energy, energy transition, and renewable energy. John is also a member of Manulife’s global leadership team, and is a member of the company’s global investment committee for their $300 billion global portfolio for Manulife’s life insurance businesses in Canada, the US, and East Asia.
