Travis Hancock is a Co-Founder and Partner of Octagon Energy Partners – a Houston-based energy investment firm focused on middle-market opportunities in traditional energy and energy transition. Travis is also the CFO of EnerVest, Ltd. and EnerVest Operating, L.L.C. Since joining EnerVest, he has been in roles of increasing responsibility, including managing the restructuring of several EnerVest legacy funds. In 2018, Travis led the largest monetization in the firm’s history in a sale to TPG’s Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC), which now trades on the NYSE as Magnolia Oil & Gas Corp (MGY). Travis also serves on the board of United Production Partners. Before joining EnerVest, he was a member of the investment team at Wells Fargo Energy Capital, Inc., where he helped originate and manage mezzanine debt and private equity investments. Travis has also spent time in national politics. Travis received a BS, summa cum laude, from Texas A&M University.
