Mr. William ("Bill") Sonneborn is President of Generate Capital. Before joining Generate, he was Senior Director at International Finance Corporation, overseeing investments in Disruptive Technologies, Creative Industries and Funds.

Prior to IFC, he was President of EIG, partner of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co, CEO of KKR Asset Management, CEO and Director of KKR Financial Corporation, President and Chief Operating Officer at TCW Group Inc., and mergers & acquisitions at Goldman, Sachs & Co. In New York and Hong Kong. Throughout his roles, he has served on numerous investment, risk, and portfolio management committees.

Mr. Sonneborn is a frequent speaker on sustainable infrastructure and technology opportunities, giving keynote presentations at global, industry-leading conferences and has appeared on television, radio and in print with venues such as Bloomberg, CNBC, France24, The Financial Times, the WSJ and PEI. William graduated with honors from Georgetown University. He has been involved with a variety of non-profit organizations, currently serving on the Board of Georgetown University and the GU Entrepreneurship Initiative.
