Bos Smith has been with BroadRiver Asset Management since 2018, where he serves as Managing Director and Portfolio Manager, leading the firm's Trade Finance program. He brings significant investment and operational expertise from his senior executive roles at fintech companies that contributed to making trade receivables an investible asset class. From 2011 to 2014, Bos was Managing Director of the Receivables Exchange, where he co-founded a program enabling large corporations to sell accounts receivable through auctions. Backed by Bain Capital Ventures and in partnership with the NYSE, this initiative facilitated billions of dollars in receivable sales for companies such as Cargill, GlaxoSmithKline, and Samsung—with no defaults occurring under his management.Between 2014 and 2018, Bos served as Chief Operating Officer at Seabury Trade Finance Exchange, a platform focused on distributing and servicing accounts receivable. In this role, he managed legal, compliance, and operational functions, and structured portfolios for institutional investors including Hitachi Capital, Hyundai Asset Management, U.S. banks, and universities. Under his leadership, these portfolios acquired hundreds of millions of dollars in receivables.
Earlier in his career, Bos was a Fixed Income Associate at Goldman Sachs, working on the investment-grade lending (2004-2007) and longevity risk (2007-2009) desks. He is also a member of the New York Bar and an inactive Certified Public Accountant, and holds a B.S. degree.
