Daniel is the co-founder of Cohen Circle and The Bancorp. He has over 20 years of experience as an operator and investor. Daniel also founded Cohen & Company, an asset manager with $2.2 billion of AUM.

Daniel has served or currently serves as Chairman for all of Cohen Circle's special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs). Daniel is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cohen & Company and of the board of managers of Cohen & Company’s majority owned subsidiary, Cohen & Company LLC. Mr. Cohen is Chief Investment Officer of Cohen & Company’s Asset Management Business, President and Chief Executive of Cohen & Company’s European Business, and President, Director and Chief Investment Officer of Cohen & Company’s indirect majority owned subsidiary, Cohen & Company Financial Limited. In these capacities, Daniel has overseen the financing, acquisition and placement of billions of dollars of ABS, commercial mortgage-backed securities, corporate and financial technology related assets.

Daniel is a member of the Academy of the University of Pennsylvania, a member of the Visiting Committees for the Humanities of the University of Chicago, and a member of the board for the Institute for Ideas and Imagination in Paris. Daniel is also the Chairman of the Board of the Paideia Institute, which promotes classical studies, and a Trustee of the Arete Foundation. Daniel is also a contributor to the Forbes Finance Council.

He holds a B.A. in East Asian History from University of Chicago.
