Elizabeth Govea serves as a Managing Investment Officer at the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund which has over $55+ billion in assets. She is head of the Private Markets team investing across various asset classes within alternatives and real assets focusing on portfolio construction, manager selection, and rigorous due diligence. Ms. Govea has been instrumental in growing IMRF’s Private Markets internal investment program which started in 2012 and totals $18 billion in total commitments today. Since joining in 2015, she along with the Private Markets team has allocated over $10 billion of capital commitments across private equity, private credit, real estate, and infrastructure. Prior to joining IMRF, she was previously a member of the Alternative Investment team at Kemper Corporation investing and managing fund commitments and direct coinvestments with a primary focus on private credit. Early in her career, Ms. Govea was an analyst for Bank of America Capital Corporation in the Fund Investment Group, where she assisted with due diligence and valuation of its private equity funds investment portfolio. Ms. Govea is a member of the Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA), Accelerate Investors, Women Investment Professionals (WIP), and Pension Real Estate Associates (PREA).
