Profile
Evan G. Greenfield is a private equity value creation leader who institutionalized ESG as a measurable driver of operating leverage and enterprise value at scale. As Managing Director and Head of ESG for the Private Equity program at British Columbia Investment Management (BCI), Evan embedded ESG into the firm’s investment process and value creation architecture across a $25 billion global private equity platform.
At BCI, Evan transformed ESG into a performance discipline. Working alongside portfolio company management teams, he translated structural drivers such as workforce stability, safety performance, regulatory positioning, and supply chain resilience into EBITDA durability and enterprise value growth.
Across three publicly documented portfolio company case studies, this approach quantified approximately $365 million in projected enterprise value uplift and contributed to a material double-digit increase in NAV across the direct portfolio. The work is detailed in research co-authored with Stanford.
Previously, Evan was Senior Managing Director and Global Head of ESG at S&P Global, where he scaled the firm’s ESG and climate platform and drove approximately 40 percent annual revenue growth. Earlier, he built Deutsche Bank’s ESG and Impact Investing platform in the Americas. He began his career as a private equity investor across the United States, Europe, and Asia.
Evan holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Economics from Duke University, graduating summa cum laude.
