John Sweeney

John Sweeney is Chief Executive Officer for Brookfield's Private Wealth Group. He previously served as head of U.S. business development and sales, as a managing director and head of the Americas intermediary business at Oaktree Capital, and as president of Oaktree Funds from 2014–18.

Prior to joining Oaktree in 2013, Mr. Sweeney was a managing director and head of product management and development for the alternative investments business at Morgan Stanley. Prior thereto, he was the head of product management in the U.S. for the alternative investments business of the Citi Private Bank. Before joining Citi, he spent over ten years at Morgan Stanley in a variety of roles, including alternative investments, risk management and institutional fixed-income sales.

Mr. Sweeney is a graduate of Fairfield University.
