Julia Cherashore is currently a Senior Fellow at the Data Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Washington, D.C. that champions the use of open data and evidence-informed public policy to make society better for everyone, and an Adjunct Professor at Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business. She’s a 20+ year veteran of the financial services industry and prominent thought leader and speaker on AI and data topics. Her work in the public sector, as Deputy Superintendent-Data Governance and Management at New York State Department of Financial Services, was recognized with a ‘Best of New York’ Award for ‘Best Workplace Initiative’ among NYS government. Prior to NYS DFS, Julia spent 20 years at leading investment banks and financial services firms, including Morgan Stanley and Goldman, Sachs & Co., across Data, Risk Management, Compliance, Management Consulting, and Operations. She received an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business and dual undergraduate degrees in Music and Business Administration from Weber State University.
