Paul Barker is a partner in the Bay Area office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP and a member of the Firm’s ESG & Impact Practice Group. Paul has a particular focus on climate change/energy transition law and policy, which intersects regulatory, transactional, and litigation practice. Paul counsels private equity and credit sponsors in the U.S. and worldwide on a range of matters under domestic and international law, including: carbon markets and emissions trading; climate/transition fund formation and investments; disclosure and greenwashing litigation/enforcement; and sustainable finance. Complementing this work, Paul is an adjunct lecturer at Columbia University in New York, where he teaches a class on business and climate change.
