Paul Braude, Managing Director, is the Chief Investment Officer and Head of the Direct Private Opportunities (“DPO”) team within Multi-Alternatives (“Multi-Alts”) at BlackRock. DPO is responsible for sourcing and underwriting opportunistic investments across emerging segments of private markets that introduce diversifying sources of return to client portfolios. Paul serves as the chair for BlackRock’s DPO Executive Oversight Committee and the DPO Investment Committees. He is also a member of the Infrastructure Solutions Investment Committee and the Multi-Alternatives Executive Committee. Paul serves as a board representative at several BlackRock portfolio companies. The Multi-Alts team, designs and manages portfolios across a wide range of liquid and illiquid alternative investments, leveraging BlackRock’s investment capabilities and technology to deliver best in class solutions for clients. Prior to joining BlackRock in 2014, Paul was an investment professional at Blackstone's Tactical Opportunities Group where he focused on evaluating and executing opportunistic private investments across industry and capital structure spectrums. Prior to that, he was an investment banker in Blackstone's M&A practice, as well as at Citigroup and ABN AMRO. Paul started his career at Bridgewater Associates. Paul graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a BS degree in Economics from the Wharton School and a BAS in Computer Science from The School of Engineering and Applied Science. He earned an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
