His expertise and leadership have made him a sought-after speaker at industry conferences and a respected advisor to organizations aiming to solve their most complex capital challenges and achieve lasting growth.

Throughout his career, Mr. Plaut has held senior roles at leading investment banks including JPMorgan, UBS, Salomon Brothers, Citibank, Bank of America, and Jefferies, and has formed strategic partnerships with prominent asset managers such as Hove Capital, Fortress, and BC Partners.
Currently, Mr. Plaut serves as Managing Director at Amagis Capital and Partner at Schmitt Capital, where he leverages his extensive industry knowledge and network to create immediate, measurable value.

Mr. Plaut also held the position of Executive Director of a London-based family office and investment manager, where he was responsible for originating and due diligence on deal flow across various asset classes, including hospitality and real estate. During this time, Peter served as the Chairman as well as Vice Chairman of the GRI Global Committee on Hospitality, Future Finance and Investing, Multifamily and Build To Rent.

During the 2008 Financial Crisis, Mr. Plaut was ranked as one of the Top Rising Stars of Hedge Funds because of his comprehensive analysis of Lehman Brothers (and many other financial institutions) and prior was a top ranked researchanalyst by Institutional Investor, Euromoney and Alternative Investor.
Earlier in his career, Mr Plaut worked in Korea during a period of significant economic and financial instability, where he was involved in efforts alongside international institutions, including the International Monetary Fund, to support the country’s recovery from what was widely regarded as the most serious financial crisis in its modern history. This work required close collaboration with government bodies, international advisers, and financial professionals under demanding and high-pressure circumstances.

As a result of his international work, including professional engagement in both Korea and Canada, Mr Plaut was invited to become a member of the Council on Foreign Relations at a relatively early stage in his career, reflecting recognition of his involvement in international economic and policy-related matters.

Mr Plaut is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he pursued his higher education and was actively involved in campus leadership. During his time at the Institute, he served as President of his fraternity and was a member of the Management Honor Society, reflecting both academic engagement and leadership among his peers.

In addition to his professional work, Mr Plaut has long been involved in charitable and community-focused activities. He has supported organisations dedicated to assisting underprivileged individuals, those facing health-related challenges, and initiatives focused on the welfare and development of children. This involvement has been a consistent aspect of his adult life and reflects an ongoing commitment to contributing positively beyond his professional responsibilities.
