Phil Troyer has been a recognized thought leader within the retirement plan industry for nearly 20 years. Phil began his career in the ERISA space by serving as General Counsel for National Retirement Partner's broker-dealer and RIA. At that time, NRP was one of the earliest and largest aggregators of financial services firms providing investment advice to retirement plans sponsors, bringing together many of the nation's top plan advisers under a common platform. After returning to private practice for several years, Phil accepted a position as Chief Compliance Officer for Bukaty Companies Financial Services, which at that time was a small financial services firm located in Overland Park, Kansas. In his 12 years as CCO and Senior Counsel, that firm (n/k/a "OneDigital Investment Advisors") grew from having less than $2B in AUM to over $130B in AUM, while advising nearly 6,000 retirement plans across the country. Phil retired from OneDigital in 2025 and now serves in an Of Counsel position for Endeavor Law, which provides legal support to retirement plan advisers, plan sponsors, and various types of service providers. Phil has served on several committees of the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA) and has been a frequent participant in the NAPA DC Fly In.
