Sharo Atmeh is Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Montauk Capital, where he is responsible for evaluating investment prospects, overseeing investment processes, and managing day-to-day operations including all administrative, compliance, and fund operations. He serves as a member of the Montauk Capital Venture Fund I Investment Committee.
Prior to Montauk, Sharo built out an energy technology investing platform at Alyeska Investment Group (2018-2024), a $31B+ AUM hedge fund, where he served as a Portfolio Manager and was among the initial and largest investors in a number of growth-stage public companies across cleantech verticals including solar, hydrogen, wind, energy storage, and utilities. He also led sustainability integration and engagement programs.
Earlier in his career, Sharo helped establish a Fortune 50 sustainability advisory firm that was subsequently sold to PJT Partners, practiced law at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, and clerked for a federal judge and the SEC. He holds a B.A. from Rutgers University, an M.P.P. from the Harvard Kennedy School, and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
