Tom Cohn, CFA, is Cerity Partners' Chief Solutions Officer and a Partner in the New York office. In his role, Tom oversees the firm’s Investment Office, which is responsible for developing the firm's asset allocation, market and economic views and research of all third-party strategies. Additionally, he oversees all alternatives research and the firm's alternatives team, which covers private markets, real assets and hedge funds, and deploys capital into various strategies within the alternatives space for both institutional and individual investors.
Tom is also a member of the firm’s Leadership team. He has over ten years of experience in various investment management roles, most previously serving as Deputy Chief Investment Officer at Cerity Partners.
Before joining Cerity Partners, Tom served as an Investment Analyst at Spero-Smith Investment Advisers where he was responsible for the due diligence and analysis of third-party managers and assisted in global market and asset allocation research. Prior, he worked as a Registered Investment Advisor in Syracuse, NY, where he researched a factor-based investment strategy. He started his career as an analyst in the Corporate Debt Products group at Bank of America in Boston, where he worked on a team that managed the bank’s exposure to a portfolio of middle market and multinational companies.
Tom earned his MBA from the S.C. Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University and his B.S. in Business Administration from Boston University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
