Michael Bego is the Managing Partner of Kline Hill Partners, a private equity secondaries firm he founded in 2015, highly regarded for its focus on finding underserved sellers and providing high-quality service with three main strategies in LP, GP-led, and tech secondaries. He oversees all firm operations and investments, leveraging extensive relationships across the secondary industry. Mr. Bego hosts the “Secondary Snapshot” podcast, featuring prominent figures discussing the latest trends in the private equity and secondaries market, and organizes “THE Secondary Day,” a premier conference for secondary professionals.Mr. Bego began his career in 1993 at Numetrix (now part of Oracle), working in consulting and sales across Norwalk and Singapore. He then became Vice President at LGP, making investments in and overseeing software companies. His experience further includes leading a successful turnaround as head of operations at Vincent Longo and consulting at McKinsey & Co. Mr. Bego entered the field of secondary investing in 2005 as a Partner at Willowridge Partners, where he specialized in all aspects of small-deal secondary investing, from sourcing and diligence to pricing and fundraising. Mr. Bego holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Cornell University (1993) and an MBA from Columbia University Business School (2000).
