Jan-Hendrik Boelens is the Co-Founder & CEO of Alpine Eagle GmbH, a Munich-based DefenceTech startup building AI-powered, airborne counter-UAS systems to protect military and civil airspace from drone threats.

Founded in 2023, Alpine Eagle has grown to 40+ people, raised €10M+, and counts the Bundeswehr and NATO allies among its customers.

Jan-Hendrik brings over 15 years of deep aerospace expertise to the defence challenge of our time.

Before founding Alpine Eagle, he served as CTO at Quantum Systems, where he led development of advanced eVTOL drone platforms. Before that, he was one of the founding architects of Volocopter, scaling the company from a 10-person team to 300+ employees and through its Series B and C. His career began at Airbus Helicopters, where he led electrical systems engineering across major rotorcraft programs.

A rare combination of hands-on technical founder and experienced aerospace executive, Jan-Hendrik is shaping Europe's sovereign capability in drone defence.
