Chris Lerner is Group Chairman and Co-Founder of Thrive Alternatives and serves as an Operating Partner with Bonaccord Capital in Asia.
Previously, he was Managing Partner at MSA Capital, where he oversaw the firm’s institutional fundraising and operations. Before MSA, Chris was a Global Partner and Head of Asia at Eaton Partners, where he revitalized a dormant business, building one of Asia’s leading private markets practices in fund placement and secondary advisory. Under his decade-long leadership, Eaton won multiple industry awards, including Private Equity International’s Fund Placement Firm of the Year in Asia for four consecutive years and Secondary Advisor of the Year twice.
Mr. Lerner began his career with Citigroup and its predecessor firms, Salomon Brothers and Smith Barney, as the firm’s first investment banking expatriate in Mainland China. He later relocated to Hong Kong, where he helped establish and expand the Asia Pacific Financial Institutions Group.
He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA from Tufts University, and is an active, long-standing member of Young President’s Organization and a Kauffman Fellow.
