Matthew co-founded Scarcity Partners in 2023 and is a member of the Scarcity Partners’ Investment Committee and Board. He also sits on the Board of Singapore-based venture capital and growth credit firm, January Capital.
Matthew has been in the asset management industry for over 25 years, initially spending nearly a decade at First Sentier Investors in a variety of senior roles across three locations.
In 2007 he joined Magellan Asset Management as one of the initial executives and was integral to Magellan’s growth from a start-up firm to managing over $A100 billion ($US75 billion) in less than 15 years. In his fifteen years at Magellan he was instrumental in the establishment of the intermediated wealth business in Australia, initiated and managed the Australian institutional business, initiated the development of the North American business, and initiated and managed the Asia business.
Matthew is a CFA Charterholder and has a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Western Australia.
