Alvaro Gonzalez Ruiz-JaraboHead Private Equity coinvestments and Secondaries at AndbankPanellist
Profile
Álvaro Ruiz-Jarabo leads Actyus Private Equity's direct investment strategy through Actyus Coinvest FCR and Actyus Coinvest SCR, deploying capital into co-investments and GP-led transactions across Europe. Actyus is a leading alternative assets manager, 100% owned by Andbank.
In 2020, Álvaro founded Balian Private Equity, a fund focused on small and mid-market private equity in Western Europe. Balian's strategy complements primary fund investments with a disciplined programme of co-investments and secondaries alongside best-in-class GPs.
Prior to founding Balian, Álvaro spent several years at a major private equity house, responsible for deploying over €300 million across primary investments and co-investments in Europe and the US, gaining deep exposure to co-investments from both the LP and GP perspectives.
Today, his mandate has expanded beyond co-investments to also include GP-led transactions, including continuation vehicles, reflecting their growing role in the European private equity market.
Álvaro holds a degree from ICADE (Universidad Pontificia Comillas) and completed part of his education at Marquette University in the United States.
Through his work at Actyus and Balian, Álvaro brings a distinctive dual perspective on private equity: as an allocator building a diversified programme across co-investments and GP-leds, and as a fund manager originating and executing direct deals.
