Ludwig Forrest is the Chief Philanthropy Officer at the King Baudouin Foundation, where he leads the Centre for Philanthropy. With over 25 years of experience, he advises private donors, families, businesses, and professional advisers on strategic philanthropy, providing information, guidance, and tailor-made solutions to maximize their public benefit impact.
Ludwig also serves as an international philanthropy architect, supporting global philanthropic initiatives and helping donors and beneficiaries in Belgium, Europe, and worldwide. He is committed to fostering and simplifying international philanthropy through the promotion of the Giving Europe network and, as Chair of the Myriad Alliance, by advancing global cross-border giving solutions.
He is a member of the Board of the Belgian Federation of Philanthropic Foundations, a member of the Board of Alliance magazine, and is actively involved with Philea, where he co-chairs the Legal Affairs Committee. A recognized advocate for enabling philanthropy at both national and European levels, Ludwig is also a frequent author, speaker, and moderator at international conferences. He has organized and coordinated six editions of Be Philanthropy in Brussels, with last edition attracting more than 1,500 participants from Belgium and abroad.
