Chris Walsh (CTA, AIIT, ATT) has been a global indirect taxes specialist for more than 35 years, starting with the UK tax authorities before moving on to consulting (Crowe, PwC, KPMG and RSM) and in-house roles (HSBC, BAT and Foster’s Brewing Group). He brought his tax experience into the technology world when he joined Vertex Inc. in 2004, leading several teams, including the VAT Practice and the International Expansion team. In his current role as Vertex Director of Tax Innovation, his focus is on the automation of sustainability taxes and reporting, helping build a unique product to assist businesses with their ESG challenges. Chris is an experienced speaker, writer and commentator on global tax trends and technology. He is a Chartered Tax Advisor (UK) and is a member of the Institute of Indirect Taxation and the Association of Tax Technicians.
