Amanda Pletz is a Director at NERA and has over 20 years of experience applying economic and financial analyses to transfer pricing, international tax, and other issues involving litigation, arbitration, regulation, and subsidy control (state aid).
Ms. Pletz has directed numerous projects involving transfer pricing, economic risk modelling, and valuation across industries including private banking and asset management, fintech, private equity, real estate, insurance, trading, and broader banking sectors. In the area of financing, Ms. Pletz is a trusted advisor on capital structure issues, cash pooling, pricing of loans, hybrid instruments, guarantees, captive insurance arrangements, leasing and loans, and other asset valuations.
Ms. Pletz has authored expert opinion reports in relation to tax audits globally and has assisted clients with negotiating advanced pricing agreement (APA) terms with local tax authorities across Europe. In litigation, international arbitration, and disputes, she has been retained in cases involving intercompany guarantees, retrospective banking business and other business valuations, financing arrangements, and trade analyses. She also has experience in disputes and advisory cases involving state aid for tax and non-tax issues.
Ms. Pletz has been appointed to the P.R.I.M.E. Finance Panel of Experts. She has also been recognized as a Global Elite Thought Leader in Corporate Tax by Who’s Who Legal for several years and is ranked in WWL Corporate Tax–Experts and WWL Experts–Financial Advisory and Valuation–Corporate Tax Experts directories. She regularly speaks on the economics of intercompany financing transactions and transfer pricing issues in the financial services sector.
Ms. Pletz is co-editor of Kluwer Law International Applying the Arm’s Length Principle to Intra Group Financial Transactions: A Reference Guide. She is also a frequent guest speaker at the University of Lausanne and has lectured on the economics of intercompany financing transactions as part of the university’s executive program in transfer pricing.
