Senior Sustainability Risk Manager at Savills Investment Management
Speaker

Profile

Steven joined Savills Investment Management in January 2017 and is responsible for oversight of sustainability and climate risk, supporting investment risk and enterprise-risk management initiatives. He is a member of the Group Risk and Compliance Committee, ESG Committee and is Co-Chair of Savills IM’s global Diversity & Inclusion steering committee. Steven is actively involved in outside working groups with the Better Buildings Partnership, updating sustainable real estate acquisition guidance for market participants in the UK, and sits on the European steering committee for the ULI C Change transition risk guidelines. Steven has worked across both listed and non-listed asset classes focusing on risk, regulation and ESG matters. More recently, Steven has been working on a climate resilience methodology with insurers and academia to understand how the resilience of buildings goes beyond the ground to which they stand and impact the local climate and wider environment.

Steven started his career in 2014 at Boston Trust & Investment Management Company (now Boston Trust Walden Company), a state-chartered bank and trust company specialising in ESG, and impact investing based in Boston, Massachusetts. He later moved to London, United Kingdom where he started working with Savills IM, and now services the firm’s global platform from Paris, France. Steven holds a dual BSc in Economics and Business Administration, and an AS in Communications and Media Arts. He has earned the INREV/Henley Certificate in non-listed real estate investment (portfolio management) and is presently studying French at a B1 CEFR level.
