Carolin Lechner is Director R&D at Bachem’s Bubendorf site. In her role she leads early phase peptide NCE development and GMP manufacturing. Carolin is a biochemist by training and earned her PhD in the group of Prof. Christian F. W. Becker at the Technical University of Munich, working on functional analysis and biotechnological application of silaffin peptides. Afterwards, she conducted postdoctoral studies in chemical biology at EPFL with the group of Prof. Beat Fierz. Since joining Bachem in 2016, she has contributed to the development and scale up of SPPS processes and is overseeing the GMP manufacturing of peptide APIs on pilot scale. Additionally, she is involved in the evaluation and implementation of new and innovative technologies.
