Niall McLoughlin is a Senior Scientist specializing in late-stage peptide process development at Roche. He holds an undergraduate degree in Medicinal Chemistry from Trinity College Dublin and a master's in Drug Discovery & Development from Imperial College London. In 2020, Niall completed his PhD at VU Amsterdam under the supervision of Prof. Tom Grossmann, focusing on the design and synthesis of peptide-based RNA-targeting ligands. After transitioning to industry, he spent two years as a process development chemist at the CDMO Polypeptide, overseeing peptide process development from milligram to kilogram scale across various clinical stages. Before joining Roche in 2024, Niall served as a quality assessor at the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines.
