Nour Eddine Fahmi, Ph.D., is a Scientific Director in the Oligonucleotide Capability Group at Eli Lilly and Company. He earned both his Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry from Université de Picardie Jules Verne (France) under the supervision of Prof. Grahame Makenzie, followed by postdoctoral training with Prof. Sidney M. Hecht at the University of Virginia. Prior to joining Lilly, he held scientific leadership positions at Pinnacle Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and the Biodesign Institute at Arizona State University.
Dr. Fahmi’s research career spans the fields of organic and bioorganic chemistry, with contributions to natural product synthesis, nucleoside and nucleotide chemistry, oligonucleotide therapeutics, DNA and RNA nanotechnology, and protein engineering. He has co-authored 42 peer-reviewed publications in leading scientific journals, including Nature Chemistry, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Angewandte Chemie, and Biochemistry, and is a named inventor on four patents.
