Shanthi is the Director at Novo Nordisk, with over 20 years of industry experience in nucleic acid therapeutics, drug delivery, cancer drug discovery, and gene therapy. She was responsible for bringing the first two RNAi-lipid conjugates to clinical development for the treatment of cancer patients at Novo Nordisk and is currently evaluating the clinical candidates in metabolic diseases, rare endocrine disorders and autoimmune diseases. Prior to that, she spent more than 10 years at NIBR and two other gene therapy companies developing RNAi therapeutics and oncolytic viruses for cancer treatment. Throughout her career, she has published extensively in the areas of RNAi, cancer therapeutics and gene therapy and holds several patents and awards for her work in this field. She has also been a member of AACR and ENDOCRINE society and has attended and presented her work at several international conferences. She earned her PhD in RNAi therapeutics for cancer applications at Northeastern university.
