Rafael Melo is the Transfer Pricing Director at WPP, based in London, where he oversees global transfer pricing planning, compliance, implementation, and controversy. With over 20 years of experience, Rafael has deep expertise navigating a wide range of complex, high-stakes transfer pricing matters, including IP valuation and migration, cost-sharing arrangements, intercompany financial transactions, APAs, MAPs, and intercompany services. In addition to leading the transfer pricing aspects of WPP's own AI development and exploitation, he has been developing custom AI agents and agentic workflows, leveraging artificial intelligence to augment resources, streamline processes, and elevate the quality of the tax function. Prior to joining WPP, Rafael served as the Head of Transfer Pricing for Honda’s North American headquarters in Los Angeles and advised multiple Fortune 500 MNEs during his tenure with the Big Four in Chicago, Madrid, and London. Rafael holds a Master’s degree in Taxation from the University of Southern California and a Master of Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University. He is also a US Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
