Seán McCarthy is a Corporate Tax Partner with RSM Ireland, with over 15 years’ experience advising domestic and international businesses on corporate tax matters. Seán also co-leads RSM Ireland’s Technology Industry Group.

Seán’s areas of tax specialism include advising large multinational and private equity-backed businesses—primarily in the technology sector—on corporate tax structuring, IP planning, financing, and M&A transactions.

Seán leads the Irish firm’s Pillar Two team, supporting in-scope clients in navigating the Irish Pillar Two rules and ensuring full readiness ahead of implementation. Seán also sits on the RSM Global Pillar Two Steering Committee, working closely with senior colleagues across key jurisdictions to help shape RSM’s global approach to Pillar Two and support coordinated, high-quality advice for multinational clients operating in an evolving Pillar Two landscape.

Seán holds a Bachelor of Business Studies from the University of Limerick, Ireland. Seán is a Chartered Tax Adviser with the Irish Institute of Tax, a Chartered Certified Accountant, and holds a Certificate in Transfer Pricing from the UK Institute of Tax.
