Background

•Glen Hutchings is a Partner in KPMG’s transfer pricing group, based in Sydney specialising in Australian transfer pricing and international tax matters.

Professional and industry experience

•Glen currently advises some of Australia’s largest companies in the digital, technology, banking and ENR sectors. A significant focus of his work is advising on supply chain pricing, intangible property planning and the pricing of financing arrangements. •Glen has assisted a number of North American and European inbounds with planning their transfer pricing arrangements and resolving matters with the ATO. This has included managing MAPs, concluding APAs and resolving ATO disputes. •He joined KPMG from the ATO in 2017 where he held the position of Assistant Commissioner, International Compliance, International Structuring and Profit Shifting (ISAPS) & Transfer Pricing Strategy. He held that senior role for over four years. •Glen brings with him significant experience in leading the ISAPS program for the ATO focusing on large business audits, driving law reform, transfer pricing strategy, APAs and supporting Australia’s Multinational Anti-Avoidance Laws. As an Assistant Commissioner, he was also responsible for leading three strategic risk areas: digital technology, pharmaceuticals (life sciences) and asset leasing. He was also a delegated Competent Authority for MAPs and APAs. •Prior to joining the ATO, Glen was an advisor with Big Four accounting firms as a transfer pricing specialist including working in the UK for three years as a supply chain specialist. •Glen has over 25 years international tax experience.

Publications and speaking engagements

•Glen has presented at international tax forums in Hong Kong and Singapore, including keynote speaker roles whilst at the ATO and as a Competent Authority representative •Glen was previously the Chairperson for the Tax Institute of Australia’s NSW State Council Committee and regularly chairs and presents at tax forums and seminars on transfer pricing and international tax
