Profile

Roger is an acknowledged expert and an international speaker on financial regulatory subjects. With 20+ years of experience in financial markets, the investment industry and asset management, he is of service to financial institutions on an international level as well as on a national level. Roger is domiciled in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Roger works in projects from the business analysis phase up to and including operational implementation. His role can vary from project team member to project coordinator/manager.

He has worked on projects concerning the implementation of Dodd-Frank, EMIR, the central clearing obligation, MiFID II (investor protection and reporting), AIFMD, GDPR, advisory on applying for an MTF license, and compliance, governance and risk management more in general.

Special knowledge is available on financial regulation (GDPR, MiFID II, SFTR, specific derivatives regulation like EMIR & EMIR 2, Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Capital requirements (CRD & CRR), requirements on margining and clearing obligation, Central Securities Depositories Regulation (CSDR), MAD & MAR, Dodd-Frank, AIFMD, Shareholders Rights Directive (SRD), Payment Services Directive 2 (PSD 2)), and furthermore in the areas of Compliance and Risk management. Also, Roger combines his knowledge in approving a firm's data governance. Finally, he is actively following the developments in FinTech, like Blockchain.

Training & Coaching...

For many years Roger provides training & coaching in the area of financial markets and financial products. Target groups are the middle and back office of financial institutions, and pension board members. An example of a training is the Investment Foundations Program from the CFA Institute, where guidance is provided in the self-study process through study sessions and exam training. Participants passing the official CFA exam receive a certificate. Also, tailor-made training courses can be offered.

Before starting his own consultancy business, his experience ranges from investment advice, private banking, asset management and running a Family Office.
