Ivan Sacks is a senior partner in the private client and tax team of Withersworldwide based in New York.

He is widely regarded as a trusted advisor to international and domestic families, leaders in business and the arts, entrepreneurs, investors and fiduciaries. Ivan is head of Withers' Family Office Group and is a member of the firm's Latin American and Asia-Pacific Groups. From July 2013 to July 2019 he was the Global Chairman of Withersworldwide.

Both in the US and in an international context, he counsels families and entrepreneurs on the structuring of their closely held business interests, family offices and charitable foundations, the design and administration of trusts and estates, and comprehensive risk management, governance and succession planning. He also frequently advises banks and trust companies on fiduciary matters.

Ivan is admitted to the bar of the State of New York and the Federal District Court for the Southern District of New York, He graduated from Columbia Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, a Charles Evans Hughes Fellow and Editor-in-Chief of the Columbia Human Rights Law Review. He is an active member of several bar and professional associations and frequently speaks on topics related to wealth planning. Among his writings, he is co-author of Chapter 5 "Establishment and Structuring of Family Offices" in, The Complete Family Office Handbook (Wiley & Sons 2014).

He also serves as a director or other fiduciary for a number of public as well as private charities, including The Jose Limon Dance Foundation and the International Patrons of the Duomo of Milan.

Ivan is ranked among Legal Week's Private Client Global Elite, City Wealth's Top 100 International Lawyers, Chambers and both New York Super Lawyers and America's Best Lawyers lists.

During his tenure as Chairman of Withersworldwide, Ivan oversaw the strategy and Board governance of a firm of over 1,000 people and 18 offices around the world that is a market leader in its space and passionately committed to helping clients achieve their higher success. During his chairmanship, Withers expanded greatly beyond its historical roots in the UK and US, adding eight offices around the Pacific Rim and substantially grew its revenue and profits.
