Thomas is a commercial chancery lawyer, with a particular emphasis on high-value trusts and estates matters both in England and other jurisdictions, including heavy commercial disputes involving trusts elements. His practice has taken him to every level of the court hierarchy, including the Supreme Court and the Privy Council. Most recently, he appeared for the successful former trustees in 8 appeals to the Privy Council concerning the Tchenguiz family trusts (Investec Trust (Guernsey) Ltd v Glenalla Properties Ltd [2018] 2 WLR 1465). He is a contributor to the 19th edition of Lewin on Trusts (plus Supplements) and the 20th edition of Williams, Mortimer & Sunnucks: Executors, Administrators and Probate, and he is one of the editors of Theobald on Wills.
