Bill is a US tax lawyer and partner at Withers. He has extensive experience with US federal, state, and international income, estate, and trust taxation and has represented a wide variety of private and public clients, including family-owned, start-up, and multi-million dollar enterprises on purely domestic as well as inbound and outbound business and investment transactions, focusing not only on the transaction itself, but also on post-closing matters, smooth operations, and ongoing compliance. Key aspects of his practice include establishing and working with family offices, private trust companies, and family investment partnerships. In recognition of his family offices work, contributors to Family Capital magazine observed that, "[Bill runs the gamut] of family enterprise matters, particularly tax planning and cross-border investments," and, "[he] is a true professional, working diligently to solve challenging legal and regulatory issues family enterprises often face."
