Profile
Danielle Cahill is a partner in the Private Wealth Disputes team at Hugh James. She represents high-net-worth individuals, families, trustees and executors in complex trust, estate and succession disputes, frequently with an offshore dimension. She has extensive experience in co-ordinating global disputes and managing parallel proceedings across multiple jurisdictions, including recent matters involving Canada, Dubai and Guernsey. Her practice focuses primarily on trust disputes, contested probate, and capacity issues before the Court of Protection.
Danielle also advises high-net-worth families on risk management, governance structures, family charters and succession planning, drawing on her dispute-resolution expertise to help pre-empt and mitigate inter-family conflict.
Before joining Hugh James, Danielle spent over a decade in Clifford Chance’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice. In 2024, she completed a nine-month secondment at a bank with a busy private-wealth disputes practice, advising on matters involving regulatory issues, fraud, financial crime and probate litigation internationally, including in Dubai, Spain and Jersey. This combination of institutional and private-client experience enables her to handle the most complex international trust and estate disputes with authority and pragmatism.
