Philip Coolidge
CEO at Global Fund Connections LLC

Profile

Philip Coolidge is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Global Fund Connections LLC (GFX).

GFX is a multi-disciplinary FinTech firm that has developed and is currently licensing the know-how and software for the innovative universal virtual pooling℠ system – the product structuring solution that is the first to permit asset management firms to operate a single portfolio for each strategy involving liquid and/or private assets.

Each portfolio may have assets from conventional investment funds; index-based and actively-managed ETFs; collective investment trusts and other retirement products; as well as closed-end funds sold publicly in the U.S. (mutual funds), Europe (UCITS and AIFs) and Asia; as well as pension and private managed accounts and pooled vehicles.

The legal, tax, fiduciary and regulatory components of this system have been reviewed by the authorities in the U.S., Ireland, Luxembourg and the UK on several occasions. The system was approved in writing by Ireland and Luxembourg for their UCITS and AIFS; by the UK for their CIS; and responses were provided to the points raised by the SEC in connection with ’40 Act funds and ETFs.

Prior to forming GFX, Phil was the chief executive of a private administration company in the global investment fund industry which maintained offices in Boston, New York, Grand Cayman and London.

Prior to that position, Phil was a corporate attorney with leading law firms in Manhattan and Boston, as well as the Assistant General Counsel of a leading U.S. investment management firm.

Phil received his J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown, his M.Sc from the London School of Economics, and his B.A., magna cum laude, from Tufts.
