Valerie is a Chairperson and Independent Non-Executive Director, having served on a range of boards and committees since 2013, including regulated financial services firms, public bodies, membership bodies, and regulatory bodies. She is also an experienced member of Audit, Risk and Governance Committees, as well as Disciplinary Tribunals and Conduct Committees.

She has extensive senior management experience, specialising in Compliance, Risk, and Governance, over more than 30 years. Executive positions include Senior Regulator with the Central Bank of Ireland with responsibility for regulating a range of fund service providers, funds and investment firms, Director of Regulation and Compliance in a leading law firm, Managing Director with a global bank, and Chief Compliance Officer for a range of firms – from asset managers, administrators, depositary/custodian, banks and MiFID firms.

Valerie is a board member of the Irish Fund Directors Association and chairs its Regulatory and Governance Committee. She is also a member of the Institute of Directors, Institute of Bankers and the Compliance Institute. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Master of Business Studies, Post-Graduate Diploma in Financial Services Law, Advanced Diploma in Risk Management, and Professional Diploma in Sustainable Finance, all from UCD, as well as an Institute of Directors’ qualification, and is a Certified Investment Fund Director.
