Heather Exner-Pirot is a Senior Fellow and Director of Energy, Natural Resources and Environment at the Macdonald-Laurier Institute in Ottawa, Special Advisor to the Business Council of Canada, Managing Editor of the Arctic Yearbook, and Research Advisor to the Indigenous Resource Network.

Her current research focuses on the politics of resource development, energy security, Arctic security, and Indigenous economic development. She has a PhD in Political Science from the University of Calgary.
