Mike Klassen is a Councillor for the City of Vancouver, first elected in 2022. His work is driven by a passion for building a more inclusive and innovative city that supports economic growth, fosters vibrant communities, and addresses the housing needs of its residents. Among Mike’s priorities is creating an age-friendly Vancouver where older adults can remain active, socially engaged, and supported. Before entering public office, Mike served as Vice President of Public Affairs for the BC Care Providers Association (BCCPA), where he championed improvements in seniors’ health care and housing. During the COVID-19 pandemic, as Acting CEO of BCCPA, Mike helped lead the sector through its most significant crisis, focusing on safety and successfully reuniting seniors in care homes with their loved ones separated by infection control measures.
