Profile
Curtis Way is the Founder and CEO of The RMS Group of Companies, a fully integrated real estate development, construction, and property management organization based in Western Canada. With a career spanning more than four decades, Curtis began in 1979 in the construction industry, gaining hands on experience in high-rise construction, tenant improvements, renovations, and industrial development - experience that would shape his long-term success in real estate.
In 1994, he founded RMS to help property owners navigate the complexities of development, construction, and asset management. Under his leadership, the RMS Group has grown into a vertically integrated organization comprising RMS Developments Inc., RMS Builders Inc., and Royal Management Services Inc., delivering a seamless, wholistic approach across the lifecycle of real estate assets.
Curtis has been directly involved in the development and construction of over 5 million square feet of real estate across Western Canada, representing more than $1 billion in asset value.
Currently, RMS manages over 2,000 multi-family residential units and has an additional 800+ units in planning or under construction. RMS also manages over 500,000 square feet of commercial property in Western Canada.
Curtis has also been a pioneer in public private partnerships, leading the development of one of Canada’s first affordable housing projects, a joint venture with the Government of Alberta’s Subsidiary Corporation “Civida” formerly known as Capital Regional Housing. This initiative reflects his commitment to building not only communities, but opportunities for residents to achieve long-term stability and success.
His leadership, entrepreneurial spirit, and commitment to people has been instrumental in RMS meeting its objective of building accessible, affordable, safe and inclusive housing opportunities for people across multiple income levels.
