Kim O’Brien is President & CEO of United Active Living, a Calgary-based company renowned for ownership and operations of some of the city’s most innovative and respected senior communities. She was drawn to United by the opportunity to lead its work in transforming the experience of aging. Previously, she led non-profit Horizon Housing Society (now known as Onward Housing), expanding its portfolio by 50%. She also gained extensive industry experience as an executive member with Boardwalk REIT. Kim serves as a Director of the United Active Living Foundation and a member of the Trellis Foundation board of directors. She has been widely recognized for her community leadership, as a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal in 2022 and Calgary’s Top 40 Under 40 in 2010.
