Luke MariPrincipal, Development at AryzeSpeaker
Profile
Luke Mari, with more than 15 years’ experience in real estate as a land economist and professional urban planner, is on a mission to demystify and disrupt the development industry. As a Principal at Aryze, Luke is an advocate for data-informed design and diverse housing in all neighbourhoods, which means fostering a strong vision for what a city can be—and acting on it. This approach resulted in award-winning projects like: Pearl Block—missing middle townhomes on a challenging triangular lot; and Tiny Homes—transitional housing units built from repurposed shipping containers for some of our community’s most vulnerable. Previously working as Director of Planning with a leading municipal government in the Greater Victoria region—and a Real Estate Analyst for two BC Ministries—Luke brings extensive experience at the local, regional and provincial levels of government. He has participated in more than 30 national and international housing panels, was a contributing stakeholder in the development of CMHC’s Missing Middle Solutions Lab and also serves on the Board of the Greater Victoria Housing Society.
