Senior Chief Financial Officer at Southern Chiefs' Organization

Moira Geer is the Chief Financial Officer for the Southern Chiefs Organization (SCO), which respresents 33 Anishinaabe and Dakota First Nations in southern Manitoba.

At SCO, she is leading the team for Wehewehneh Bahgahkinaghogn (“it is visible”) project, the redevelopment of the former Hudson’s Bay Building in downtown Winnipeg. This indigenous led nation building project will convert 600,000 square feet into 373 housing units, 200 of those affordable for First Nations citizens, including youth, family and veterans. The building will also feature cultural spaces and office space for indigenous enterprise and organizations.

Prior to joining SCO, Moira was the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Winnipeg, where she led the development of the City’s Housing Accelerator Fund Program. She was also Director of the City’s Water and Waste Utility and held a number of senior positions in the private sector and the Province of Manitoba.

She is a life-long Manitoban and proud to be part of true economic reconciliation and the revitalization of Winnipeg’s downtown.
