As an accredited commercial appraiser, Rod has managed the Winnipeg Property Tax team for the last 15 years. He has over 27 years’ experience in property valuation for assessment and taxation purposes, commencing in 1999 at Newell Group Property Tax Consultants. Rod joined Deloitte & Touche LLP in 2000 and soon reached the position of Senior Manager with the Deloitte Winnipeg office’s tax group. While at Deloitte, Rod also assisted in many other service line engagements, including Research & Development, Financial Advisory Services, Consulting and the Canadian Tax group.

In July 2008, the Deloitte property tax practice in Canada was acquired by Altus Group. Rod became the key contact and respected consultant for a wide array of Altus Group’s property and business tax clientele in Manitoba, representing them at The City of Winnipeg Board of Revision and the Manitoba Municipal Board, as well as many rural municipality boards. In 2011, Rod became the Managing Director for the Winnipeg office, and in 2019 was promoted to Vice President. Under Rod’s leadership, the Winnipeg Tax office has increased to over 750 Manitoba clients, and handling well over 7,000 Manitoba assessments.

In early 2025, Ryan acquired Altus Group property tax services, and Rod came to Ryan ULC as a Regional Principal responsible for the Manitoba and Saskatchewan offices.
